Elementary I – II Course Work

The academic course work to extend an Elementary I credential through sixth grade requires 232 contact hours of instruction following the Elementary I course. Summer phase classes are held for two three-week terms held over two summers. There are  online coursework during the school year and a two-day seminar in January. The total hours for Elementary I and II together is 576.

Courses include additional work in Philosophy, Child Development, Classroom Leadership, Curriculum Strategies, Language, Math, Geometry, History, Geography, Life Science, Physical Science, Fine Arts and Practical Life. For course descriptions see MEIPN Course Handbook.
